In addition to educating and engaging our students in sustainability material, we at Truman State believe the same measures need to be applied to our staff, faculty, and student workers.
Truman State University recognizes the need to reach out to not only students, but also staff, directly. Thus we’ve created the Truman State University Sustainability Pledge, an online Pledge that lists ten simple but effective ways that both staff and students can employee in their daily routines to make a tangible effect on the environment. So far more than 850 signatures have been collected on the pledge.
All new employees receive information on sustainability through both the annual campus-wide reminder sent to all faculty and staff, as well as through a sustainability brochure that is included in the info packets distributed to new employees by our Human Resources Department.
Staff Professional Development
Each year on University Conference Day Truman State offers a sustainability session for staff development. The session is also recorded for future use or for any staff member that wishes to catch up on the information.
