Truman State has incorporated many sustainable initiatives into the core affairs of the university. The following pages list just a few ways in which we have been able to take great strides in making the background operations of our campus environmentally friendly.
Purchasing: By buying environmentally friendly products, Truman State is able to support our goal of being sustainable, as well as support the companies also working toward that goal.
Transportation: Creating environmentally friendly transportation is no easy task. However, our university strives to make the commute of our students, teachers, and faculty more cost and energy efficient through a variety of programs. Additionally, we have created a Bike Support Page in order to keep our students updated, which includes the creation of a map of campus and all available bike paths.
Waste: Truman State works not only toward recycling and composting our waste, but also taking preventative measures to minimize the production of waste. By working to decrease the total amount of materials we use and discard, we aim to make our campus, and our earth, a healthier, cleaner place.
Dining Services: In order to maintain a transparent and low-impact food system, Truman State has incorporated a variety of measures to reduce our emissions and overall impacts on the environment in partnership with our dining service company, Sodexo.
